9th Annual Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run

30 03 2012

The 9th Annual Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run is a few months away, but the deadline for the lottery is coming up.  May 31st is the last day you can submit your application.

Be a part of the tradition along with 400 other runners to cross the Mackinac Bridge at sunrise on September 3, 2012.  The run is about 5 miles and put on by the Governor’s office, the Michigan Fitness Foundation, and the Mackinac Bridge Authority.

There are a few limitations, however. In order to be eligible, you must meet the following conditions:

  1. You must be 18 years old by September 3, 2012 (they will ask for proof).
  2. Michigan residents only.
  3. Must have participated in an event put on by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2012.

Rule: Runners who plan to run slower than 12 minutes shouldn’t enter. But don’t worry; you can still take part in the Labor Day Walk across the bridge at 7 am after the run.

So what are you waiting for?
