Michigander 2013 is only a few days away, so we know you’re getting ready and excited for a great ride in the days ahead! Before we leave, however, we wanted to send a few friendly reminders about what to expect on this year’s Michigander Tour:
**Friday Night Camping
For 2 and 7 day riders who will be camping on Friday night, check-in begins AFTER 4 PM. Be sure to check-in in order to receive your wristband and breakfast ticket for Saturday.
*Note: By checking in for Friday night camping, you are NOT checking in for the Michigander. This is ONLY if you registered to camp at Charlevoix Middle School on Friday, July 12th.
2 and 7-day registration will be open from 7 AM to 10 AM on Saturday, July 13th. 6-day registration will run from 7 AM to 10 AM on Sunday, July 14th. Early registration will be available for 6-day riders between 6pm and 7pm on Saturday night.
Saturday Shuttle Times
7-DAY RIDERS ONLY— Since the 7-day tour begins in Charlevoix and ends in Harbor Springs, riders will need to drive their cars from Charlevoix Middle School to Harbor Springs Middle School on Saturday, July 13th after the day’s trip. You will be checking in at Charlevoix Middle School and parking your vehicle there for the day. We will have a shuttle bus to transport you back to Charlevoix to pick up your vehicle and move it ahead to Harbor Springs Middle School where you can pick up a map that will lead you to a designated parking area for the week. Shuttle departure times will be at 3 and 6 p.m. Check information table for departure place. If you did not check the box on the registration form and need a ride back to your vehicle, please call or email us.
Coffee and Tea Mugs
Starting Sunday morning, the coffee and tea truck will be back, providing you with fresh, hot coffee and tea. Michigander mugs will also be available for sale, but you do not have to purchase these in order to receive your coffee. Bring your own or use our complimentary Styrofoam cups.
Themed SAG Stops
We will have a themed SAG stop most days of the tour and we invite you to get in the fun with props, costumes, etc.
Saturday: Easter themed SAG stop
Monday: Christmas in July SAG stop
Tuesday: Halloween-themed SAG stop (Wolverine)
Wednesday: Hawaiian Luau Themed SAG stop in July (Topinabee)
A rider information meeting will be held each night to give highlights and information about the next day’s route. The times for those meetings as well as for other scheduled evening activities will be listed on your entertainment itinerary in your registration packet as well as posted at the information table at each camp.
*You can also view the week’s upcoming entertainment posted on our website.
